A Tourist Visa is available for those seeking medical treatments along with other short-term activities like sightseeing or attending cultural events. This visa allows for single or double entries and can be applied for online at eta.gov.lk. Our team is ready to assist with any visa-related queries and extensions if needed.

Medical Visa


Under the Residence Visa category, a Medical Visa is available for patients requiring extended medical treatment in Sri Lanka. This visa is suitable for:

-       Individuals undergoing medical treatment
-       Medical assistants and dependents of the Medical Visa holder


A Medical Visa provides residency facilities for the duration of the treatment, ensuring a more flexible stay. Our International Patient Care team is available to guide you through the application process and help with documentation requirements.

Weather and Climate in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has a tropical climate with warm weather year-round. Depending on the season, you may experience monsoon rains, so heres what to consider:

           Clothing: Bring light, breathable clothing, and an umbrella or raincoat if visiting during the rainy season. Modest attire is recommended for visits to religious or cultural sites.

           Hydration and Sun Protection: Protect yourself from the tropical sun with sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses, and remember to stay hydrated.

 

Currency and Payments

           Currency Exchange: The local currency is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). We recommend exchanging some currency upon arrival for smaller expenses, though credit and debit cards are widely accepted at Asiri Health and other major establishments.

           ATMs and Card Usage: ATMs are available throughout the country. Be sure to check with your bank about international card usage and inform them of your travel plans to avoid any inconvenience.
